Frequently asked questions:

What is considered a slip and fall accident for filing a personal injury claim?

Slip and fall or trip and fall are the generic terms for injuries that occur as a result of dangerous or hazardous conditions on someone else's property.

Here are some common causes of slip and fall accidents;
    •     Water, Ice or Snow which was not naturally accumulated
    •     Flooring Level
    •     Poor Lighting
    •     Lack of Handrail where required
    •     Hidden Hazards such as torn carpeting, loose tiles or cracked pavement

Feel free to call our office at (214) 696-0021 or contact us for a free consultation.

Who is responsible for a slip and fall case?

Property owners are responsible for injuries that occur as a result of dangerous conditions on their property, which the owner either knew about or should have known about. Also, the length of time that the dangerous condition existed is important. Feel free to call our office at (214) 696-0021 or contact us for a free consultation.

What should someone do after they slip and fall?

Inspect the area where you fell and attempt to find out what caused the fall. If you have a camera or cellphone camera, take a photo of the areas, and any injuries or bruises. Write down the name, telephone numbers and the addresses of any witnesses. Be sure to note the date, time and location of where you fell. If the incident occurred in a business, be sure to have the on duty manager fill out an accident report and get a copy for yourself. Feel free to call our office at (214) 696-0021 or contact us for a free consultation.

What should I do about my injuries resulting from my fall?

If appropriate, seek medical attention immediately. It will be quite difficult to assert a claim for injuries and pain and suffering without proper medical documentation and a delay in seeking treatment may hurt your claim (not to mention you may aggravate an injury by not immediately seeking medical help.) Feel free to call our office at (214) 696-0021 or contact us for a free consultation.

I don’t have any insurance. How can I pay for a doctor?

Even if you don’t have medical insurance, in many cases a law office can provide a medical provider with a “letter of protection” which guarantees the doctor’s invoices should there be a successful outcome of the case. This means that you can pay the medical establishment if/when your case is completed. Feel free to call our office at (214) 696-0021 or contact us for a free consultation.
